You’ll reach the house by steps leading up from the parking spaces on the driveway. Once inside, the main living accommodation is all on one floor.
The master bedroom has a king-sized bed and lovely river and village views, while the other two bedrooms are twins. There are two bathrooms: one containing a bath and shower and the other with a shower. The spacious living room is complete with dining table and chairs and plenty of comfy seating. This room also features a working open fireplace, making it a cosy retreat on autumn and winter evenings.
Just off from the well-equipped kitchen and living room is a generous fully furnished sun room – this space and the balcony beyond are great places to enjoy the stunning views of the river, village and hills beyond. Steps lead down from the balcony to a pretty terraced sloping garden.
Available at an additional charge, a lower-floor annexe is approached from the hallway, with stairs leading down. This area contains a fourth bedroom, which has a king-sized bed and en-suite shower room, as well as a games room with table football.
Please note that Colbeh is reached by a steep driveway rising up from the lane that descends towards the heart of Golant. Please ask us for further details if any members of your party have limited mobility.
Set in a wonderful position on the Fowey estuary, the village of Golant is just a few minutes’ walk downhill from Colbeh.
Being so close to the river, you’re ideally placed for launching a small boat or kayak to enjoy the water (but beware of the low tides, which can leave you high and dry!) Golant is also a perfect base for walking – and you don't have to go far up the hill above the village to visit lovely St Samson’s Church. There are great opportunities for bird watchers to catch glimpses of herons, egrets and kingfishers (one of our favourite places for watching kingfishers swoop is nearby Lerryn Creek). But if you ever tire of the “get away from it all” tranquility of Golant, Fowey can be easily reached on foot in about an hour, or by car in a few minutes.
